everyday i see the hate surrounding the things and the people i love and while i feel sad they’re living such miserable life to spend their obviously excessive amount of free time spreading hate nowadays i feel less sad and more grateful that my life is so good and my skin is so clear my face is so cute my parents are so loving and my room is so comfy my college life is great and my oshi is so amazing!!!! <3

Cause you know who has the same brainrot as you? The same unhinged feelings as you after you’ve read the fic? The person who always wants to scream about the fic with you?

I never used to leave comments but since I got into the habit of commenting on everything i enjoy it’s been incredible. Especially when the author gets back to me about it and we get to have a discussion of what other ideas they had. One writer replied to my comment with a 5 paragraph essay detailing the Floorplan of the building the characters lived in and it was incredible
Anyways this is all to say that if you find a fic that just makes you want to scream from the rooftops, leave a comment saying that to the author and maybe they will join you and you can scream incoherently together

if u forget one character in chinese u suddenly illiterate and there is no way to help you. you mispronounce one thing and suddenly your mother is a horse
The thing that gets to me the most about OceanGate (and there’s many), but… the fact that it’s the fucking Titanic. Like, this could’ve been just a generic failure. This could’ve been about allowing people with more money than sense to go explore the sea floor, see coral reefs from a new perspective, view icebergs from below, whatever.
But no. It’s specifically the Titanic. The ship declared to be unsinkable. The ship whose builders refused to bring enough lifeboats, because it would compromise their aesthetics, and make their rich customers uncomfortable to see them. Which famously sank on its maiden voyage.
And here comes the OceanGate CEO and without a hint of irony, has gone on record saying shit like this:
You know, there’s a limit. You know, at some point, safety just is pure
waste. I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t
get in your car. Don’t do anything. At some point, you’re going to take
some risk, and it really is a risk/reward question. I think I can do
this just as safely by breaking the rules
And just… if you were writing a story to explore the hubris of rich people, how much more on the nose than that could you get?
